Lost - Missing - Stolen Dogs

"Stray" Animals/Finding Their Owners:
If you
see and/or pick up a dog or cat, do not assume the animal does not have
an owner. Do not think the animal must have been owned by someone
who is careless and irresponsible. Accidents do happen and
animals can become lost. Please do everything possible to try to
find the owner of the animal you "found." Contact your local law
enforcement, local animal control, local animal shelters, local
veterinarians, place ads in your local/area newspapers, put up
posters/fliers in your area. Try to
put yourself in the place of the person who wants desperately to find
their beloved pet. Try just as desperately to find this person
and reunite him/her with their pet. Also, have the animal scanned
for a microchip, but remember, even if nothing shows up, it does not
mean the animal does not have a microchip. For various reasons,
there are times when the microchip simply cannot be detected even
though it is there. Some websites for lost and/or found animals:

First and foremost, whether your animal is
missing or whether you found an animal, it is imperative that you act
immediately! The sooner you do, the better the chances the animal
will be able to return home.
